I am writing this blog to raise awareness about tuberculosis and share my own personal experience with the disease, particularly its spinal form known as Pott's disease. Firstly, let me start by saying that tuberculosis is still a major public health issue, affecting millions of people worldwide every year. It is a contagious disease caused by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacterium and primarily affects the lungs. However, it can also affect other parts of the body, including the spine. I myself was diagnosed with Pott's disease a year ago, and it has been a tough journey. Pott's disease is a form of tuberculosis that affects the spine, causing pain, deformity, and in severe cases, paralysis. It is often misdiagnosed or diagnosed late, leading to serious complications, wherein, my vertebrae's got damaged and have to be replaced with a titanium cage.
